Tuesday, March 6, 2007 | 9:40 AMNo surprises in round 1 of districtsHost Canton, to no surprise, beat cross-campus rival Salem, 62-45, in the first round of basketball district play on Monday night. Although the Rocks have been up and down more than the temperatures this week, Salem isn’t a bad team—just young. And Canton is just playing some of its best hoops right now and will be tough to beat from here on out. Junior Neil Sharma led the Chiefs with 25 points. The kid can shoot. He scored 23 for Canton to beat Northville for the conference tournament championship last week. Canton will have their hands full on Wednesday when they face off against the Mustangs for the fourth time this season. Northville leads the series, 2-1, and had Monday off. On top of it, they are an emotional group and will be out for to redeem Wednesday’s loss. « Back to From The Cheap Seats |
