Thursday, March 8, 2007 | 9:52 AMAh, curses!!!The one-and-done curse struck the Northville Mustang basketball squad again this week. The 18-3 team was knocked out of the district competition without winning a game, again. This time the continuously improving Canton Chiefs were the culprits. The host team won by 10 points, 61-51 on Wednesday. That ended the Mustangs’ superb season. The future still looks bright for Northville, though. The crew only looses three seniors to graduation this year. The biggest blow will be the loss of Alvin Storrs—one of the best players in the state and even a better individual. If anyone deserved to win a state championship let alone a district one it was Storrs. On the brighter side, the team has 11 experienced juniors returning for another campaign. So somebody, anybody, please sacrafice a bucket of fried chicken—see the movie “Major League” for help—or something, anything, to get rid of this debilitating thorn in the side of an otherwise great program. « Back to From The Cheap Seats |
