Summer fun

Alexis Downs enjoys a sweet summer treat last week at the YWCA summer picnic. The event, which included all of the children enrolled in the full-day Head Start Program at the YWCA Inkster headquarters, took place at Attwood Park. “It’s a really nice event for the families to come together and have fun,” said Thomas Stuart, the lead teacher for Head Start. “The event is an annual favorite and creates many lasting memories for kids, parents and staff.” About 800 children aged 2 ½ to 5 years old attend pre-school programs offered by the YWCA.
