BROWNING, Pricy “Granny”, February 4, 2008 age 80 of Westland. Beloved wife of the late Losie. Dear mother of Stella, (the late Robert) Scott, Lois, (Bobby) Killen, Woodrow (Linda) Miller, James (Libby) Miller, Elizabeth (Hobert) McCoy, James (Deneen) Browning, L.B. (Brenda) Browning and Peggy (Ronnie) Pritt. Also survived by brother, Jack Layne and sister, Ethel Layne, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother of the late Earl, Frank, Donald and Walter Layne, Mary Dotson and Lizzie Leedy. Services were held at the Uht Funeral Home, Westland with Pastor Joe Jones officiating. JOHNSON, Martha, age 73 of Romulus, passed away on Jan. 21, 2008 at her son’s residence in Cairo, MI. She was born in Caro, MI on Oct. 15, 1934 to the late Albert and Mary (Silvernail) Rickwalt. Martha married John L. Johnson on April 24, 1954. They lived in Romulus, MI. for over fifty years. She was a Vassar High School graduate and attended Eastern Michigan University where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in education. She taught in the Wayne-Westland School District until her retirement in 1985. She attended a nondenominational church since her youth, which was the most important part of her life. Her primary interest was her family. She was always there to help family, friends and neighbors. She is survived by her children, John B. (Beth) Johnson of Caro, OH and Lynn (Jan) Tollefson of Williamsburg, OH; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three siblings, Verna Williamson, Albert (Christina) Rickwalt and Mary (Bernard) Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Willard (Patricia) Rickwalt and sister Alice Rickwalt.

HUBY, Rev. Charlotte B., age 58 of Romulus, passed February 1, 2008. Dear mother of Edwin J. (Stephanie) Huby and Dr. Nicole M. Huby, and grandmother of 3. Sister of Sharon (Comer) McNeil, Debora (Mendrate) Love, Brenda (Harold) Sullivan and Wanda Mayes. She was currently a teacher at Mark Twain Elementary School in Detroit, MI. Previously she taught at Beacon School. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the AFL-CIO Detroit Teachers Federation. She participated in the United Conference For Women. She was proud of her affiliation with First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and participated in all other activities. Visitation Thursday, Feb. 7, from 12:00 – 8:00 PM, with Family Hour from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Crane Funeral Home, 36885 Goddard Rd., Romulus, MI. Services were held at First Baptist Church, Romulus, MI, with Rev. Charles P. Woolridge officiating. Interment was at Romulus Cemetery.

STROME, Donna of Belleville, died February 9, 2008. Beloved wife of Kenneth. Dear mother of Dorothy and Joy Lynn (Kenneth). Dear daughter of William Davis and the late Dorothy. WALK, Jean passed away at her Saline home on Thurs., Feb. 7, 2008. She was born Feb. 9, 1927, the daughter of Jefferson and Olive (Garrison) Moore. On July 21, 1945 in Bowling Green, Ohio, Jean married Samuel Walk. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1988. Jean retired from Ford Motor Company. She is survived by her son, Allan (Gerry) Walk of Pinckney, MI and daughters, Alyse (Richard) Sliter of Ypsilanti, MI and Sally (Randy) Cooper of Kingwood TX. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Jeffery Knox, Angela Knox, Aaron Walk, Andy (Amanda) Walk, Lauren, Rachel and Samuel Cooper; great grandchildren, Travis Knox, Nick Knox and Chloe Walk; her sisters, Hope Derr, Ina Jones, Faye Langford and Olive Mache. Funeral services were held at the Robinson-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, MI. Interment was at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, MI. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Lung Association of Michigan and to the Washtenaw County Veterans Honor Guard. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
