BREWIS, Richard J., age 76, died February 19, 2008. Beloved husband of Mary Lou; loving father of Rick (Denise), Bill (Carol), Michael (Laura), Mary (Jim) Brewis Dunn, Kathy (David) Reynolds and Patrick; dear grandfather of Richard, Courtney, Mackenzie, Lindsey, Cristine, Jon, Aubrey, Austin, Emma, Nick, Alli, Mariel, Rosanna, Charlie, Robbie and Jackson; brother of Shirley (Bruce) Nelson; brother-in-law of Eugene Letourneau.
Richard was a 34-year educator in the Inkster Public Schools as a science teacher, administrator and coach. Recipient of the Catholic Youth Organization Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition for over 45 years of service as a football, basketball and softball official. He was inducted into the Detroit CHSL hall of Fame for outstanding service. He was extremely active since his retirement in the CYO and as a tireless spectator for his grandchildren’s sporting events at Divine Child, Brother Rice, and St. Michael of Livonia and St. Mary of Wayne.
Contributions may be made to Angela Hospice in Livonia, or CYO at St. Mary Catholic Church in memory of Richard Brewis.

DAUGHENBAUGH, Edward W. February 20, 2008 age 34 of Detroit, formerly of Romulus. Beloved son of William and Shelby Daughenbaugh and the late Grace (Hartford) Daughenbaugh. Grandson of the late William and Hulbah (Amheiser) Daughenbaugh and the late Samson and Margaret (Teeples) Hartford. Dear brother of Robert (Debbie) Eves, Ronald (JoJo) Eves, Thomas Eves, Deborah (Steve) Miller, Cheryl (Brian) Gehan and the late Donald Daughenbaugh and Michael Gilbert. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. JOHNSON, Bernard G. Jr., age 32, died February 1, 2008. He was born March 27, 1975. Jr. leaves to cherish the precious memories of his life, his loving and devoted mother, Diane and father Bernard Sr.; two loving children, Brittany and Bernard Johnson III; grandmother Clara Black; sisters, Kendra (John0 Wallace and LaNeika Johnson; brothers, Lavar Johnson and LeRoi Childress; uncles, Leon Childress, Walter and Wallace Childress and Jake and Wallace (Cathy) Johnson; cousins, Kevin, Tondra, Latoya, Willie Jr., Latrice and Bree. Jr. had four very special friends, Ben, Ed, Al and Low (who preceded him in death in December 2005). Services were held at Soaring Eagle Ministries with Bishop Johnnie L. Moore officiating. Interment was at Detroit Memorial park West, Redford, MI. Final arrangements were entrusted to Penn Funeral Home, Inkster, MI.
JONES, Joseph IV, age 54, died January 31, 2008. He was born January 31 1954. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his loving companion for over 25 years, Dorothy Foulks of Inkster, MI; four children, Joseph (Patricia) Lewis, Craig (Tamesha) Lewis, Jason Jones and Nathaniel Jones; his mother, Wanetta (Warren) Johnson of Columbia, MO; grandmother, LuFonza Walker of San Diego, CA; brothers, Terrance R. Jones of Jackson, MI, Timothy Taylor, Tony Taylor, Aaron Taylor and Omar Taylor, all of Detroit, MI; sister, Wanda (Herschel) Hammond of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, James Bryant, Leavohn Lewis and Craig Lewis II, plus a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, a best friend, Fred Kelsey of Detroit and other friends. Services were held at Penn Funeral Home with Rev. James P. Quincy III officiating. Interment was at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Canton, MI. LENNOX, Betty Margaret (Willis)

Betty leaves a loving family; her husband Dick; son, Greg; daughters, Mary and Janet and poodle Pierre. Her accomplishments were many and varied. In her senior year at Michigan State, she had a full scholarship from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and took accelerated engineering courses. Betty worked as an engineering aide for P&W for almost a year before marrying Dick in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her son, Greg was born at the Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas. In Flint, MI, Betty was a substitute teacher in: mechanical drawing, any math course, physics, chemistry or home economic subjects. Her daughters, Mary and Janet, and son James were born in Flint. In New Jersey, Betty worked in food preparation for photography that would be used in product packaging, magazine advertisements or menus for restaurants. Betty continued this occupation in Connecticut and later back in Michigan.
In Northville, Michigan, Betty held political offices in Northville Township and later served as Finance Director for the City of Northville. She retired after 10 years in this position. Betty was a 52-year member of P.E.O. and served in many positions in the society.
In Rio Verde, Arizona Betty was president of the Church Board and served as a member of the Rio Verde Fire Board. She will be missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew her.
MCGUE, Leo J. February 16, 2008, age 85. Beloved husband of Nancy. Dear father of Jerry (Shelly) and James. Brother of June and Joyce. Grandfather of Rachel, Jake and Brett. Leo was on the Westland Planning Commission for over 5 years, was active in Westland politics and ran for Mayor. He also worked with the Wayne Senior Center. Cremation rites were accorded. RILEY, Joseph P. February 24, 2008 age 93 of Wayne. Beloved husband of the late Mildred. Dear father of Margaret (Angelo) Barr, Kathryn (Michael) Wade, Patty (Michael) Koeller, Michael (Debra) Riley, Kevin (Marlene) Riley, and the late Colleen Riley. Brother of Elaine Sayer of W. Va. Grandfather of 13, Great grandfather of 9. Family received friends at the Uht Funeral Home, Westland and Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at St. Mary Church, Wayne, with Fr. SHAFER, Carol Lynn, age 62 of Wayne, MI passed away Monday, February 18th, 2008 at Three Rivers Health in Three Rivers, MI. She was born in Allegan, MI on January 24, 1946, a daughter of the late Gerald and Ina (Roblyer) Shafer. Carol graduated from Allegan High School in 1964. Following school she went to work for Northwest Airlines where she remained for 42 years, most recently as cargo supervisor in Wayne, MI.
Surviving are her sisters Linda (Chuck) Colley of Constantine, MI, Mary (Brad) Adams of Kalamazoo, MI, brother Ron (Jo) Shafer, sister in law Teri Shafer, Knoxville, TN, nephews and nieces Chris Colley and Michele Anderson of Constantine, Jeff Shafer, Kalamazoo, Lori Shafer, Chris Shafer and Jennifer Shafer of Florida, grand niece Amber Anderson of Constantine, friends John and Robin Weaver, Wayne, MI and many friends and fellow employees at Northwest Airlines. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Jim and Jerry Shafer. Cremation has taken place. There will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be made to your local humane society. Arrangements are being handled by the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine.
WILLIS, Versie Lee, age 78, died February 4, 2008. She was born August 10, 1929. Versie shall eternally live in the hearts and memories of her loving children, Pat (Melvin) Vesey, Calvin Jr. (Rhonda), Alesia, Melvin, Theresa, Curtis, Debora (Reginald) Holland, Darryl (Clara) and Bettina (Damon) Fueri, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
