She leaves to cherish her memories, her father, Lenard Curry Sr.; her children, Kimberly Cephas (James) of Atlanta, GA, Jimmy Barnes jr. of Detroit, MI, Tracy Hunt of Detroit, MI and Shawn Barnes (Helen) of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Tiffany Cephas, Michael (Tisha) Cephas and Alyssa Cephas, all of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren, Deondre of Texas, Adriana, Kamaya, Tyria and Trey, all of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Johnny Starks (Janet) of Lompoch, CA, Leonard Curry (Pearl) of Detroit, MI and Harry Curry (Victoria) of Lawrenceville, VA; sisters, Janice Willis (Rev. Arthur) of Oak Park, MI, Deborah Jackson (Robert), Sharon Jackson (Raymond) and Darcell P. (Mike), all of Detroit, MI; her god children, Joseph, Caliyah and AJ; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her sisters, Sharon Jackson (Raymond) of Detroit, MI and Stella Rondeau; Harry White, Jr. who was her special friend and 2 special children she raised, James Hollands and Shawn Letha Hollands. Services were held at Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church, Romulus, MI with Pastor Arthur C. Willis, Sr. officiating. Interment was at Knollwood Cemetery, Canton, MI. Final arrangements were entrusted to Penn Funeral Home, Inkster, MI.
DOBBINS, Melvin Jr., age 28, died April 8, 2008. He was born July 21, 1979. He is survived by his father, Melvin Dobbins Sr. of Belleville, MI; his mother, Cheryl Dobbins (Cleaves) of Ypsilanti, MI; two brothers, Jerome Damon-Lamont Cleaves of Westland, MI and Rashad Dobbins of Ypsilanti, MI; sister Quonnisheila (Gene) Raphael (Dobbins) of Florida; niece, Raelynn Barnes of Westland, Mi; nephews, Brandon Cleaves and Patrick Barnes of Westland, MI and Devontay Dobbins and Jeffery Stokes of Florida; loving aunts, Mary Ann Jones of Saginaw, MI and Georgie Davis of Westland, MI; special friends, Stephanie Johnson, Doron Tipton, Martez Wilson, Carla Turner, Derrick Agurs and Jane Parker; and a host of uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Services were held at Penn Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffery Hatcher officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Final arrangements were entrusted to Penn Funeral Home, Inkster, MI.
EICHOLTZ, Ernest A. April 19, 2008 age 85 of Westland.
Beloved husband of Leona. Dear father of Gerald (Janet), Janice (Dennis) Sparks, Donna (the late Larry) Mullins & Jayne (David) George. Loving grandfather of 12 & great grandfather of 10. GREEN, Clarence James, age 90, died April 7, 2008. He was born November 19, 1917. Clarence was a man of all seasons. He was compassionate and fair, sensible and stern and had a giving spirit. He was opinionated and stubborn and he loved a good debate. He lived what he preached; love and respect each other, help those less fortunate than you and hold strong to your faith. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Walter (Martha) of Natchez, Thomas, Theresa, Davis, Dennis, Darcel, Dwight, Dirk (Lisa), Darryl, Darren (Arnette), Darnell (Crystal) and Durrice (Gina); one brother, Thomas Green and one sister, Ellen Hayes, both of Natchez; a sister-in-law, Mary Reed of Detroit; 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. OPATKIEWICZ, Edward A., age 90 of Romulus, MI, died April 16, 2008. Dear brother of Jane Pokrywki. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Stanley Opatkiewicz.
