FeedsPlymouth woman killed in crash
A 70-year old Plymouth woman died in a traffic accident on Thursday afternoon in Washtenaw County.
Authorities are not clear on whether the victim was killed from injuries sustained when her car crashed into a tree in Superior Township, or if she had passed away before the collision.
The woman was traveling east on Plymouth Road when the car crossed into the opposite lane, left the roadway and collided with a tree. No other injuries or fatalities were reported.
Rescue teams found the woman strapped into her vehicle, according to Capt. Ron Smith of the Superior Township Fire Department. Officials are still investigating what caused the crash.
“There’s in no indication that alcohol or drugs were a factor,” Smith said.
The victim’s name was not released as officials continue efforts to contact her family.
