Election will shuffle city council seats
There will be a reshuffling of the Romulus City Council this year, and at least one new member.
Randy Gear, mayor pro-tem and chair of the city council did not seek re-election, according to elections clerk Rendell Wooden.
Gear is the only incumbent not to seek re-election this year, but several others are seeking different seats.
Councilman Harry Crout is one of two challengers to Mayor Alan Lambert’s re-election bid. The other is Charles Sharrow.
Councilwoman Ellen Craig-Bragg is one of three seeking the clerk spot being vacated by Linda Choate, who is retiring. Wooden and Raymond Cantrell have also filed for that seat.
Choate is one of 13 candidates seeking the seven city council seats. The others are: John Barden, Keenan Brown, LeRoy Burcroff, William Crova, Dean Gilbert, Tom Madej, Kenneth Mabrey, Charles Miller, Ronald Orr, Celeste Roscoe, William Wadsworth and Eva Webb.
Wadsworth, Barden, Burcroff and Crova are incumbents.
Treasurer Pamela Morrison-Kersey also faces a challenger in Stacy Paige.
