Well here’s an interesting and welcome idea.
State Rep. Marc Corriveau (D-Northville) is trying to crack down on those annoying automated political phone called robocalls.
The plan is to force the speakers to identify themselves and who is paying for the call before they start in on their teeth-grinding monotone.
What a great idea. Too bad it doesn’t go far enough. To be really effective we need a way to call back these people and deliver a message like: Hey, jerk, this is one of your constituents. Bother me again and I’m voting Libertarian.
In all seriousness, every other kind of campaign material requires this sort of identification.
It’s about time campaign law caught up to the times.
