Puttin the 'fun' in fundraiser

Wayne residents should bring something besides their scarves and mittens to the annual marshmallow drop tomorrow morning.
Bring some empty returnable pop cans. The Easter event is the kick off of the Pop 4 Play fundraiser to raise funds for the Boundless Playground proposed for Soroptimist Park.
The whole idea for the playground is pretty cool; fully handicapped accessible, it will let all kinds of kids just be kids and maybe forget about their disabilities for a while. It’s the kind of feature that you can’t find just anywhere, either—the closest one I know if is near downtown Northville.
With municipal funding being what it is today, we’re going to have to come up with more and more creative ways to pay for the things that make our community different and great. This is something everyone can easily pitch in to, as well. Every little bit will go a long way.
I’ve got a mountain of returnables in my basement. I knew I was procrastinating for a reason…
Oh, the marshmallow drop starts at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Anderson Ball Fields at Attwood Park, on Howe Road between Van Born and Annapolis…
