The eye in the sky

I guess you can’t have a Northville Township board meeting these days without talking about one of two things: Thayer’s Corner Park or the new water tower proposed for Community Park.
Sometimes you get both. Last night, it was the tower. They’re going to build it this year to help sustain water pressure throughout the township and the major discussion has been what to paint on the side of it.
Northville. Charter Township of Northville. Northville Township.
You’d be amazed at the number of variations the township trustees came up with. I was.
I just wonder why you need to paint anything on it at all. Or why you would want to put words up, anyway. Why not make it look like a gigantic eyeball? Or an enormous yellow smiley face? You could probably paint a bunch of divots on it and make it look like the biggest golf ball in the world.
Then you’d probably get into a whole philosophical discussion about what is or isn’t art.
So perhaps the wording is better. But why not something practical? “Slow down.” “Watch the road?”
Any other thoughts?
