Lessons from John Wayne

Members from the John Glenn and Wayne Memorial band programs were at the school board meeting last night, giving their final report on a trip to Disney Land that took place earlier this year.
The two bands melded into one for the trip and subsequent performances.
From all accounts, the John Wayne Band was quite a success.
We did a story on the program before the trip, but it was still nice to hear some of the kids talk about what they learned down there. Here you have students from rival high schools getting together to work—and they did a lot of work—together as a unit.
They talked about breaking down stereotypes, meeting new friends and expanding their own horizons.
Sound like good lessons to me.
