In-a-gadda-da-vida, honey…

Well tonight could be the night for the new town square project in downtown Northville.
The item is on the agenda for the city council meeting at 7:30 p.m; the bid for the project could be awarded to McCarthy & Smith.
It’s been scaled back a little, and there is a little creative financing involved in the plan, but I still think it’ll be good for the overall future of the city.
As much as city officials need to pass off this project to the people who will work on it—therefore freeing up time to finalize a marketing plan for the downtown—I can’t help but think the design for the pavilion structure is a little, well, out there. Does it remind anyone else of an Iron Butterfly?

I suspect this will go forward, finally, but something tells me to expect a 4-1 vote. Tom Swigart has been opposed to the project for as long as I can remember. I doubt he will change his tune now.
