Well, I was wrong about the outcome of the Northville City Council meeting on Monday night.
The vote to approve the contract for the new town square was unanimous, not 4-1 as I originally thought it would be. That’s because Councilman Tom Swigart was not there.
The important thing is the project can move forward—and it will, as early as July 5—and that Mayor Christopher Johnson took the time to thank everyone involved for their hard work. And there were a lot of people involved, too.
Anyone curious about the project, by the way, and what’s happening on a week-by-week basis, is invited to hit the weekly construction meetings that take place at 8 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Great Harvest Bread Company. They’ll be able to see what’s going on and hear about it first hand.
I’m going to make at least a few—as long as I can pry my eyes open that early….
