A hot button issue

There’s about a month left before the Wayne Wheelfest comes to town and the Festival Commission is a little concerned.
The $5 buttons they’re selling as a fundraiser aren’t moving that fast and they’re afraid that will translate into disappointed residents at the festival.
The buttons allow festival goers to get into the entertainment area at the Wheelfest this year. They’re one of the ideas the committee came up with to help make the festival self supporting.
It’s a good deal, $5 for four nights of entertainment, and the logo looks pretty groovy, too. It’s got a 1970s theme, which is pretty appropriate since the tribute bands playing specialize in music from that time period. (Saturday night, a Bob Seger tribute band will replace The Doors act, which dropped out.)
Okay, so you can hear the music outside the entertainment area. You should still buy a button; it’s what pays for the music. They’re available at the Wayne Recreation Center and at the Acorn Shop on Wayne Road.
Today and tomorrow might be a good day to stop by and pick one up, since the annual Sidewalk Sales event is going on, too….
