Dusty but trusty

I expected to see a swamp where the new town square project is going on when I went to Northville on Tuesday morning.
Not so. It was almost like the torrential rains of last week hadn’t happened. Plenty of workers toiled among the damp soil. They dug, they cut bricks, they carried on.
Across the street, a small gathering of business folks and DDA representatives offered a brief glimpse of what Northville will be like when the project is complete. We sat out in front of The Great Harvest Bread Company, drinking coffee and nibbling on bread as John Hazinski gave us the weekly update.
“Where did all this dust come from?” Someone asked as she wiped down the tables. Hazinski put his hands in his pockets, looked up into the air, and whistled innocently.
The Victorian Festival is less than three weeks away, and they’re still committed to having the town square in place, if not polished off….
