I was out of town for a few days last week and since then I’ve driven down Van Born Road to avoid the Michigan Avenue construction.
Yesterday, I decided to tempt fate, though, and headed west toward I-275 and my destination in Northville.
I nearly drove into the embankment after I drove under the railroad viaduct. I grabbed my cell phone and dialed one of my favorite people at Wayne City Hall.
I didn’t even say hello.
“Matt! What the H*** happened at Wayne Bowl!!!!???!!”
He laughed at my reaction to the new color scheme and verified that the city has, in fact, received some complaints about it. He’s working on developing color standards for buildings in town—I’m not sure how well that would work, but I give him an ‘A’ for the effort.
In all my time thinking of new color schemes for my own home, I never thought of combining a weak purple, a pea green and some indescribable blue.
Now I know why.
