If Canton Township Supervisor Tom Yack’s decision to not run for re-election was, as he put it, the ‘worst kept secret in Canton,’ the identity of one of his potential successors was the second worst.
State Rep. Phil LaJoy made it official today: he’s running for supervisor.
LaJoy, many of you know, is term-limited out of his office in Lansing. He served as a township trustee for 13 years and has a background in business.
“I love Canton,” he said Friday. “I love the community. I’ve always been active and involved and I think my experience in Lansing will be beneficial.”
This is a big election year in Canton. All members of the Board of Trustees are up for re-election.
