More questions than answers

There was a good crowd at Belleville High School on Wednesday night as residents and businss owners lined up to seek answers on a couple of impending projects.
They wanted to know some specifics on the repaving of Main Street and the other major project that could reshape the face of downtown, one proposed by Walker Developments.
In their quest for answers, they were, for the most part, disappointed. The Walker Development project is in such early stages that members of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) didn’t know how it would impact property owners.
The board did, though, agree to seek RFPs for a project manager and appraisal services.
As far as the streetscape project goes, representatives of the Spicer Group seem to be a bit behind the eight ball. They’re supposed to have the project under way in May, and it hasn’t been completely designed yet, let out for bids—nor have they secured the easements they’ll need. It looks like they’ll have a few busy months ahead….
