Funny press release line of the week

“The people of Michigan expect the Legislature to act quickly and efficiently to diversify our economy and create new jobs,” said State Representative Andy Meisner (D-Oakland County), Chairman of the House Commerce Committee.
He was ‘talking’ about the legislation that will help save Michigan, apparently, by granting filmmakers tax breaks. They can recieve up to a 42 percent tax credit—the highest int he nation. Other parts of the package include measures to make sure production work is cheap, too.
Maybe it will help. The cynical part of me can see filmmakers coming in and saying: “What are you all complaining about. This place is great!”
The funny part is the difference between what we expect from our legislature and what we’ve seen so far. But then, we all expected the Tigers to get off to a good start, too….
