Calling all Euchre players

St. Mary’s here in Wayne is hosting another Euchre tournament tomorrow night.
It starts at 7 p.m., but you might want to show up at about 6:30 to register if you haven’t called ahead of time (at (734) 721-8745.
I went to the last one, lost of course, but had a good time anyway. There were 152 people playing, and a pretty good payout for the $20 entry fee.
This time, those who finish at the bottom end of the spectrum—those who tend to get the same quality of cards that I do—will get some kind of payout, too. That’s to keep people who aren’t in the running for the big prize around until the end of the tournament.
The best thing about the tourney is that it’s a benefit for the John Bolde Food Depot, which provides a variety of foodstuffs and other necessities for families throughout Wayne County. We are closing in on summertime, too, when donations tend to dry up at charities throughout the region.
Trust me, this is a good time that isn’t ‘trumped up.’
