No recall necessary

Organizers of a recall attempt on State Rep. Marc Corriveau (D-Northville) have apparently dropped the effort.
I’m not really surprised; this thing didn’t have much steam to begin with. Corriveau has gone from a surprise winner in the Republican-heavy 20th District to a candidate that will tough to beat in the upcoming election.
The biggest change I’ve seen has been in Northville Township, where the stern stares and pointed questions have given way to light-hearted banter and pats on the back.
Besides that, this guy is everywhere—events, municipal meetings, you name it. The filing deadline for state offices is next Tuesday and so far Corriveau is the only candidate in the race. What a strange sequence of events—to think the Republicans might have to come up with an ‘also ran’ in a district they created for themselves…
