The Citizens for Northville group is keeping up their promise to continue to fight the annexation of 414 acres of property to the City of Livonia.
They’re seeking support for anti-annexation legislation that could up to a vote in the Michigan senate this week. They have a rally planned at 7 p.m. on June 26 at the Waterford Bend area of Hines Park (Six Mile Road and Northville Road), too.
Here’s a list of senators to call; you can also find contact information through the Senate web site.

Randy Richardvile, 517 373-3543
Alan Sandborn, 517 373 7670
Tony Stamas, 517 373-7946
Gerald VanWoerkom, 517 373-1635
The thing I don’t understand is that this legislation is being portrayed as strictly a Northville issue, or one that pits zoning regulations against development rights.
It is neither. It is about equality for township government and the ability of local elected officials to protect their communities. These are issues that affect everyone statewide, no matter what kind of community they live in.
