Three sides of history

This is a strange week in the City of Wayne.
On one block along Michigan Avenue, muralists are preserving the history of the city in a mural on the side of the State Wayne Theater.
If you stop by to watch or say hello, you’ll hear the beeps and rumbles of heavy machinery and the crashing of masonry falling as a part of history is torn down.
On the other side of town, officials made history in the successful completion of the Play 4 All Playground at Soroptomist Park.
Of the three, I am of course impressed with the playground—for those who haven’t seen it, they should stop by. It’s on John Street just east of Wayne Road.
I’ve always thought the mural was a good project, and hope to see more progressive projects like it.
The theater? Well, I know it wasn’t much to look at, but it’ll still be sad to see it go. I think it’ll look like a broken smile.
