The blame game

It should come as no surprise that the annexation issue isn’t quite over in Northville Township.
The first battle has been won—although that’s a fairly loose use of the term. The land was not annexed to Livonia.
Now people are questioning how it ever got to that point to begin with. They want to find someone to blame. That shouldn’t come as a suprise, either—it is campaign season, after all. A sad but true way of winning elections is blaming the other guy for something and then explaining how you would have stopped it.
That kind of action isn’t going to help Northville moving forward. This will still be a tricky process to navigate through and the board needs to concentrate on that, rather than on what might have been.
That holds true no matter who wins in November.
