What to watch for in 2009: Northville

The Northville Township Board of Trustees will meet in a study session on Thursday that will touch on virtually all of the major issues the board will face in 2009.
Scheduled for 7:30 p.m., the meeting includes discussions on roads, the budget and REIS—the company that owns the former Northville Psychiatric Hospital property.
This promises to be an interesting year for the township because of those issues and others—like the impending closure and sale of the Robert Scott Correctional Facility. Some trustees have indicated they want to improve communication amongst themselves, so the board may have a study session every month.
I guess that makes sense, since all of those issues will be complicated, at best and require a united front. I just hope the meetings are productive and not merely an exercise to rehash issues from the past.
