Township trustees work on communication

The Northville Township Board of Trustees had a productive study session on Thursday night and, no, they did not decide to pursue a tri-township road authority.
They did talk about improving communication between themselves and residents, both through a regular Supervisor’s Round Table and an informal ‘coffee hour’ kind of chat that would take place from 6:30-7:15 p.m. on nights of their monthly meetings.
I think this is generally a good idea, but I have concerns (of course). It’s a good idea to meet regularly with residents in an informal setting because not everyone is comfortable getting up at the podium.
I’m concerned, though, that township officials would be chatting with people who are plaintiffs in lawsuits against the municipality (like CEPARD). They’ll have to be careful about that.
