Prelude to Groundhog Day…

I was pleased to see the U.S. House voted to approve the economic stimulus package proposed by President Barack Obama this week, but disappointed to see it happened along party lines.
I think one of the major challenges facing our leaders everywhere is to change the fundamental perception of government and my perception has been that they are more interested in (a) pointing fingers or (b) taking credit to provide any kind of progress. The bad things are always the other sides’ fault, while they pat themselves on the back for the good things.
It’s funny how, when they’re campaigning, politicians always tend to talk about how they work well with the other party and they promote the spirit of bi-partisanship. When it comes time to vote, however, it’s always the Same Old Situation.
