Romulus earns 2nd shutout
Romulus football earned its second win when the Eagles defeated Redford Thurston, 27-0 on Thursday night.
Junior running back/defensive back Mario Crawford found his groove and scorched Thurston for 298 yards on 15 carries. He scored three times on runs of 29, 87 and 26 yards.
Justin Price caught four passes for 28 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown form sophomore quarterback Ondre Mathews. Mathews finished the night 3-for-5 for 60 yards and the score.
Junior quarterback/wide receiver Steve Hawes was 3-for-5 for 17 yards as the signal caller. He also caught a 40-yard pass at receiver. Junior running back/linebacker JaJuan Whitlow had 46 yards rushing on four carries.
Senior lineman John Kiesznowki led the defense with 12 tackles. Senior defensive end/tight end Antoine James had eight tackles and two sacks.
The Eagles are now 2-0 under first-year head coach Matt Ladach.
Romulus will hit the road for the first time this season when they travel to Gibraltar Carlson for a 7 p.m. kickoff tomorrow.
