Rockets crumble Rocks’ homecoming

Salem had a tough time generating any offense against the Rockets, who are fighting for a playoff spot.By the time Salem announced Andrea Spohn and J.P. Truesdell as this year’s homecoming queen and king at half time of the football game, the John Glenn Rockets led the Rocks, 34-0.
Glenn would score once more before the night was over to spoil Salem’s homecoming, 41-0.
Glenn’s Jerry Smith intercepted a pass on Salem’s third play of the opening drive and returned it 71 yards to start the scoring. Ian Thornton (right) caught a 57-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Acuna and returned a punt 65 yards for a score. Keshawn Martin and Antonio Smith also had touchdown runs in the Rockets’ win.
Salem had a tough time generating any offense against the Rockets, who are fighting for a playoff spot. At 3-3, Glenn has to win its last three games against Walled Lake Northern, a yet undetermined Western-Lakes crossover game and Wayne to earn six wins and a playoff opportunity.
Salem, 0-6, is still looking for its first win. The Rocks still have to face Stevenson, a crossover match and the undefeated, 6-0, Canton Chiefs.
