PC update: how they voted

A few notes from last night’s planning commission meeting in Canton:

Vic Gustafson, chairman of the commission, was absent. Vice Chairman Greg Greene ran the meeting.

The request relating to cell phone towers in residential districts was removed from the agenda before the meeting. T-Mobile, the company that is requesting the amendment, planned to appear at a later date.

The commission unanimously recommended approval for all other items. (The board of trustees has final say on these matters.) On Thursday, The Canton Eagle will run a story about one of the more interesting requests: residents who took it upon themselves to make sure the open space behind their homes will stay that way.

The commission also set a public hearing for May 7 to amend the future land use map in an area straddling Ford Road between Ridge and Napier roads. We’ll have more on that in the future.
