New hospital chief named
There is now some ‘Love’ in high places at the Oakwood Annapolis Hospital in Wayne.
Dr. J Timothy Love, MD, is the newly elected chief of staff, effective immediately. As the medical leader for Annapolis, Love will offer input and direction representing medical staff and serve as a liaison between hospital administration, medical staff and the board of trustees for the quality of medical care delivered at the facility.
“As leaders we have to realize that every one of us is a leader, not just those who are elected,” said Love. “Quality and communication play an integral role in health care and we are all responsible. We have a really good staff at Oakwood Annapolis Hospital and we get good results, but I think it’s possible to get even better.”
Love specializes in critical care medicine and internal medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1984 and completed his internship and residency at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn. He completed a fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and earned a master’s degree in medical management from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa. Love currently resides in Dearborn with his family.
Love will serve a two-year term through 2009 and is eligible to serve two consecutive terms for a maximum of four years of service.
Fellow inductees include Ashok Jain, MD, as vice chief of staff, Muzammil Ahmed, MD, as secretary/treasurer and M. Hazem Raslan, MD and Gunjan Shah, MD as members-at-large.
