Charity cut-a-thon planned
Stylists at Saranda Salon on Ford Road will be participating in a Charity Cut-A-Thon from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. July 12.
A portion of all fees will be donated to the American Cancer Society 3-Day Walk. Haircuts will be on a walk-in basis only.
Restaurant golf outing set
Beaver Creek in Westland will sponsor an Aug. 10 golf outing at Fellows Creek in Canton.
The $85 fee covers 18 holes of golf with a cart, a continental breakfast, five drink tickets, lunch at the turn, a tee-shirt, a dinner buffet and prizes and awards.

Bible school begins
Vacation Bible School will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. July 13-16 at First United Methodist Church in Wayne.
The theme this year is Diggin’ the Righteous Truth, a 60s theme.

Sidewalk Sales approved
The annual Wayne Sidewalk Sales will take place Thursday, July 23 through Saturday, July 25 this year.

Farmers’ Market now open
The new Wayne Farmers’ Market will open for the season from 3-7 p.m. every Wednesday.
The market will take place next to the State Wayne Theater on Michigan Avenue West in downtown Wayne.
The city is still accepting applications from vendors who want to participate at the market, which will last until Oct. 28.

Dance lessons offered
The Wayne Senior Activity Center is offering line dancing classes for seniors, 50 and older, from 1-2:30 p.m. every Friday.
The lessons are slow and easy to lean from 1-1:30 and progress in difficulty as the class continues.
The cost is $1 per half hour and drop-ins are welcome.

Baseball outing planned
Chamber of Commerce members from several area organizations are planned a joint outing to the Detroit Tigers vs. Minnesota baseball game at Comerica Park on Aug. 7.
Tickets are $20 per person and available at the chamber office. Transportation is not included.

Euchre games on hand
Players are sought for the euchre games that take place every Tuesday, from 1:45 until 4 p.m., at the Wayne Senior Activity Center.

Chair exercises offered
Sit and Be Fit, a chair exercise class, will be offered from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Mondays at the Wayne Senior Activity Center.
The class will combine resistance and stretching activities to increase strength, bone density and energy. The class is designed to improve balance, coordination, mental alertness, muscle flexibility and joint range of motion.

Hatha Yoga classes planned
The Wayne Senior Activity Center may offer a Hatha Yoga class if there is enough interest. According to a spokesman, there must be six paid students for the class, which will take place from 2:30-3:45 p.m. Mondays. The cost would be $40 for an eight-week session, or $6 per class for drop-ins.
Participants will need to bring a Yoga mat, a blanket and a man’s tie or strap, and wear loose fitting clothing.
