Burial fund set up for murder victim
For the parents of a Westland woman murdered on May 7, the grief of losing their 22-year-old daughter is compounded by questions about how they will pay the unexpected funeral expenses.
Less than two weeks ago, Laci Green, a Wayne Memorial High School graduate and Schoolcraft College nursing student was strangled near her home. One of Green’s ex-boyfriends currently faces murder charges in connection with her death.
“She was pure joy in my life for the last 22 years, and we all miss her and love her,” said Edward Green, Laci’s father, in a written statement.
Now, however, her parents need help. Edward and Barbara Green, also Westland residents, are turning to the community for help in raising the money necessary to cover the cost of Laci’s recent burial due to a lapse in her life insurance policy.
Individuals interested in making a contribution may do so at the Wayne-Westland Federal Credit Union, either in person or by mail. The mailing address is 500 South Wayne Road, Westland MI 48186. Contributions should be made out in care of ‘The Laci Ann Green Memorial Fund.’
